Planning the Week Ahead

This is a busy week for us at the WWHF!  Tomorrow we will be traveling to Marshfield for the Annual Gathering and on Thursday we will be in Milwaukee for the Annual Research Luncheon where we will award the 2012 Women’s Health Research Grants.   Check back later in the week for photos and updates!

Our busy week ahead makes us think about time management; however, managing time is easier said than done…

As much as we might wish for a gadget to freeze time or squeeze more hours into a day, our reality is that there are 24 hours in a day and we need to fill them with sleep, work, play, and everything in between.  How to fit it all in and protect both both your health and your time?  Here are some ideas:

  • The 10 minute rule: If there is a task that you agonizing over, try dedicating 10 minutes to it each day.  It may seem less daunting after you break it into manageable sections.
  • Say no:  It’s OK to delay taking on new projects if your plate is already full.
  • Organizing your ABCs:  When making a to-do list try prioritizing each task with an A, B, or C. If you do not have enough time, cross off your C’s for that day.
  • Weekend Warrior: Consider dedicating one day per week for major food preparation. Prepare make-ahead meals and healthy snacks and minimize time for cooking or grocery shopping when you are busiest.
